The General
Completed project
A new home for students in Eindhoven
This previously outdated building on the ring road of Eindhoven has been thoroughly renovated both on the inside and on the outside. The building dates from 1983 and is located near the 'Generalenbuurt', a quiet residential area near the city center and the shopping center 'WoensXL'.
The building has undergone a true metamorphosis: the interior has been renovated from top to bottom and the exterior facade shows a completely new face. The ground floor has been converted into a large office space. The General now offers 89 student residences that vary in size from 28 m2 to 73 m2. Each residence is fully furnished and features a bathroom and a kitchen with all the necessities.
The modern bathroom is equipped with a shower, a toilet, a sink, and a washing machine. The built-in kitchen features an induction hob with two burners, an extractor hood, a refrigerator, a combi oven/microwave, a stainless-steel sink, and multiple cabinets. Besides that, the kitchen is fully equipped with kitchen utensils such as cutlery, pans, tableware, cups, and a kettle.
The living space of each apartment is fully furnished and is outfitted with a couch, a dining table and chairs, a cabinet, a bed, and a wardrobe. Every residence also has its own air conditioning/heating system.
The fifth floor offers a spacious roof terrace and a well-decorated communal room that is accessible to all residents. Almost all the facilities and a bus stop are within walking distance. The University of Applied Sciences and the Technical University are easily accessible by public transport, which makes The General into an ideal location for students.
The transformation of The General offered us the ultimate opportunity to show our expertise: creating a modern residential community that upgrades the entire environment.
