Rent payments need to be made before the first day of the next calendar month, like mentioned on the rental invoice, and the payment needs to be made by bank transfer. Please note that there may be additional charges from your bank if you make an international bank transfer. Make sure to consider these extra costs when paying a deposit or rental invoice.
If you anticipate that you may not be able to make a payment on time, we highly recommend reaching out to us as soon as possible. We understand that unforeseen circumstances can arise, and we are here to assist you. It's important to communicate with us proactively so that we can work together to find a solution and avoid any potential late fees or disruptions to your stay at The City. Your satisfaction and comfort are our priorities, and we are committed to assisting you in any way we can.
Additional charges such as energy, furniture and service costs are billed separately and are not included in the basic rent. It's important to review the rental agreement and for specific details about the charges and billing process.
Yes. The government collects taxes and duties, which are not considered service charges. This means that the landlord does not offer any services in exchange for these payments. The municipality in which you rent will send you an annual assessment for waste collection charges, water board charges and sewage charges.
If you have a low income, you may be eligible for remission of certain taxes and levies. On the website of the municipality where you rent, you will find information about which taxes and levies apply and how you can apply for a remission.
Yes, The City offers Wi-Fi connections throughout the building, including in- and around your residence and in the common space. You will have your own individual private and secure personal wireless network, allowing you to connect all your devices to the internet.
No, unfortunately not! Some properties within The City (The Executive Residence and Shared Living Hub) include fortnightly cleaning in the price to ensure that your room is kept in the best conditions. However, it's important to note that the cleaning team will not tidy your belongings or wash your dishes, in order to respect your privacy.
The cleaning team also cleans all common areas of the complex. However, they are not responsible for disposing of your rubbish, so it's essential to be careful and respectful of the building's rules and regulations regarding waste disposal. Keeping a clean and tidy living environment is a shared responsibility among all residents at The City.
All our residences are equipped with their own washing machine. In the common room on the ground floor, we have a special area where you can use the drying facilities.
The City is equipped with parking facilities for both cars and bicycles. Each resident has their “own” bicycle storage and parking spaces for cars can be rented separately.
Regrettably, The City is exclusively reserved for full-time or part-time students with valid student status. Non-students are not eligible to live in The City.
To promote responsible use of water and electricity among all residents, the property charges them based on their actual consumption in their homes. This encourages the development of renewable energy sources and helps conserve these important resources.
The impressive expanse of The City residential complex spans approximately 31,000 square meters, spread over four distinct buildings named Central Park, City Center, Uptown, and Downtown. Within these buildings, there are a total of 431 studios/apartments as well as 18 Shared Living Hubs, providing different living options for its residents.
Absolutely! We understand the importance of companionship, and we offer dual occupancy rooms in some parts of our building (The Skyline View Studio, The Executive Residence and Shared Living Hub). There may be an additional charge for this option, but it's a great way to share the experience with your partner.
We recommend booking your student accommodation at The City as early as possible, ideally when you're applying for your university. Our rooms tend to fill up quickly. If, for any reason, you don't meet your requirements for your chosen university and are not offered a place, you can cancel your room.
Absolutely! We understand that the university acceptance process may take time, and you can still apply for a room at The City even if you haven't been accepted to the university yet. If your place is declined, you can cancel your rental contract before it starts, but we will charge you for this. If you do this within a month before the start of the rental period, we will charge € 500. If you cancel earlier than a month before, the costs are € 250. If possible, these costs will be deducted from your already paid deposit.
Pets are not allowed in The City due to our facilities not being suitable for them. Our no-pet policy is in place to maintain a comfortable and safe environment for all residents. But, we'd still love to see pictures of your pets!
At The City, we offer different contract length options for 6 or 12 months, which can be extended afterwards by another 6 or 12 months if you are still a student. We strive to provide flexibility in contract lengths to accommodate the needs of our residents.
Before you check in, we ask you to pay a deposit of at least one month's rent, including extra costs such as furniture rental, service and energy costs. At the end of the rental contract, we will refund the deposit, or the remaining amount if there was a reduction because of any damage and/or cleaning costs.
In order to refund the deposit, we need proof of deregistration from the municipality. If you want to get back as much of the deposit as possible, it is important that you clean the house properly upon final delivery and that you handle the Magis furniture with care.
We aim to get you back as much of the deposit as possible! Please note that we need proof of deregistration of the property from the municipality before we can return the deposit.
While we cannot guarantee specific room assignments, we understand the importance of community and friendships. If you and your friends are interested in living at The City, we encourage you to both book a room and indicate your preference for room assignments in the motivation text field. Our team will do their best to accommodate your request, but please note that room assignments are subject to availability and cannot be guaranteed. We strive to create a friendly and inclusive environment at The City, and we are committed to making your student living experience as enjoyable as possible.

Whether it's watching live terrestrial TV or streaming TV shows and movies online, you can enjoy it all without the need for a TV license. Just sit back, relax, and enjoy the viewing experience hassle-free.
Your room and the complex is absolute secure. All doors and entries are secured with an electronic lock from iLoq, we have CCTV and our on-site staff are available at service-desk or patrolling the building 24 hours a day. Their job is to always protect you and the building.
We want to keep our buildings and homes smoke-free to promote a healthy environment. Smoking (including e-cigarettes) is not allowed indoors, smoking of any kind is only allowed outside. Remember to properly dispose of your cigarette butts in the designated bins. Tenants are responsible for any damage caused by smoking during the rental period.
Several events will be organized throughout the year (at least once a month) to encourage students’ social engagement. There’s always something exciting happening at The City to spark everyone's interests and create a vibrant community for our residents to enjoy.
We apologize, but we do not offer airport services at The City. However, our building is centrally located and easily accessible by public transport or taxi, making it convenient for residents to travel to and from the airport/railway station. Please feel free to inquire at the service-desk for assistance with transportation options.
